Foreword:

What’s WordPress Starter Plugin?

When you build a WordPress site with SiteGround, our system installs a fresh WordPress site with the default Twenty Seventeen theme. Until today, our guided setup stopped there.

Now, all new WordPress installations on SiteGround come with our WordPress Starter plugin, which takes the user experience one big step further. When you log in to a new WordPress admin for the first time, you will be guided through a short site-building process that includes selecting a theme with demo content and adding basic website functionalities.

Once you’ve made your selections, all your choices will get installed and you’ll have a fully-functional site — right out of the box. Then you can start customizing it with your content and media.

Step 1: Let’s go back to SiteGround.

We finally got to the part where we can set up the website.

WordPressStarter 2

Because there is only one domain, it will set WordPress under the domain by default.

You can see that my screenshot jumps directly to

Step 2: Set up a website with WordPress Starter.

There are two options if you want to create a brand new website, choose the left side;
On the contrary, if you’re going to relocate the site here, select the right side.

Because this time we have to go through how to create a brand new website, I chose the left.

And there will appear four options:
WordPress, WordPress + WooCommerce, Weebly Sitebuilder, Other.

the same, we are talking the WordPress now, another two options… if we have the chance, we can talk to them next time.

Get back to here,
I want to add a shopping cart feature to the website.

So the best option for me is WordPress + WooCommerce.

If you don’t need to sell something on your website, just choose option1: WordPress.

Then set the account (Email) and password for the future; you can log in to the WordPress backend.

Step 3: Add Extras plugins

WordPressStarter 5

In this step, you can add some extra services or plugins, like domain privacy.

But I didn’t need to add these things, and I quickly moved into the process of creating the site.

After a cup of coffee, I back to my seat:

SiteGround has set up DNS and some backend settings.

We just need to click on Manage Site.
Ready to set the front end.

Step 4: Import template theme for Frontend.

WordPressStarter 8

All the newly installed WordPress on SiteGround comes with their WordPress Starter plugin.
It takes another significant step forward in the user experience.

The first time you log in to a new WordPress administrator, you’ll be guided through a short website building process.

WordPress Starter includes selecting a theme with demo content and adding basic website features.

WordPressStarter 9

The themes in the plugin are specifically designed for SiteGround by OceanWP, allowing SiteGround customers to take advantage of convenient and time-saving demo images and content.

After selecting the theme, it will also recommend a few useful plugins for you.

WordPressStarter 10

But it doesn’t matter if you don’t choose anything now; you can add them after creating the website.

When you press the “Complete” button, it will be taken to the installation process.

WordPressStarter 11

You can go for a cup of coffee again or take a nap before the installation progress bar has finished running.

WordPressStarter 12

It will be run done before you get back.

Although I think WordPress Starter Plugin works well, none of these are mandatory.

Therefore, if you don’t want to use the plugin or theme suggested by SiteGround, but want to use other plugins or themes, you will be allowed to use it.
